Merry Christmas!

Snow

So we got a little snow. It's unusual because we don't usually get very much snow, if any at all, and it doesn't usually stick around this long. I was pretty excited that church was cancelled this week because we were doing a special Christmas lesson in YW's at someone's house and I was in charge of refreshments and by Saturday night, I still had no idea what the refreshments would be.

These first few pictures are from the first snowstorm. Addie wanted to be outside, but she wasn't really sure what to think of the snow. She had a hard time standing up because she was wearing Clarissa's old boots and they were too big for her. Clarissa is loving the snow. It gives her something do since she misses school. She got an extra week of Christmas vacation because of the snow.

We've lost power a few times. We don't have power right now, but Bruce took the generator to a shop here in town and they fixed it. Yay! It's so nice to have lights and heat (and computer).

Zoo Lights

We went to see Zoo Lights for family home evening last night. The lights were amazing and the kids had fun. We may have over dressed poor Addie a little bit though. She looked like a cute pink marshmallow in her coat. Unfortunately, I had camera problems so the only photos and videos I got were with my cell phone.

Clarissa got a pretty good haul on the candy this year. We went to the Halloween party at Intel where Clarissa got to play games and win prizes and go through a haunted house. Then in the afternoon on Halloween we went to the costume parade in here in town. Everyone lines up at City Hall and walks down the main street of town to trick or treat at each of the businesses. We had fun even though we may have been exposed to a little too much of the local culture when we trick or treated outside of the local bars. Apparently some people had been having something besides just candy. Later, we went to the Trunk or Treat at the church and Clarissa and Addie had fun there too.

Pictures from Addie's Birthday

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures from Addie's birthday on the 8th. It was a princess party. Mom came for a visit and it was nice to have her here for Addie's birthday party. I made tutus for Addie and Clarissa and they wore their tiaras and even got Grandma to wear one. For a cake, we just did cupcakes, which Clarissa helped Grandma decorate.
